Very briefly, I was approached to start my first home-based business while serving in the United States Marine Corps. I was approached numerous times again throughout my college and subsequent years and the one thing that rang out loud and clear was the fact that after about 3 months, all the "rah rah" had lost its attraction. Calling friends and family, conference calls and "cattle calls" to hotels cost me a lot of time and money over the years. I didn't have any "gurus" to guide me along after joining any of these companies. It was more "monkey-see, monkey do" lacking any real credibility. Because of this I wasn't able to maintain interest long enough to create any kind of a strong organization or any substantial income.
